amongst yourselves.
It grieves him that you should experience any injury or difficulty. He is anxious over you; for the believers, he is full of pity, kind, and merciful.”
{Source~ ‘Quran’~ Surat At-Tawbah~9 (The Repentance) A #128}
‘A’ishah {radiallaahu anha} narrated:
“Once, when I saw the Prophet
(Sallallaahu`Alayhi wa Sallaam) in a good mood…
I said to him:-
“O Messenger of Allah! Supplicate to Allah for me!”
So, he said:-
“O Allah! Forgive ‘A’ishah her past and future sins,
what she has hidden, as well as what she has made apparent.”
So, I began smiling, to the point that my head fell
into my lap out of joy…!
The Messenger of Allah~(Sallallaahu`Alayhi wa Sallaam)
said to me…
“Does my supplication make you happy?”
I replied:
“And how can your supplication not make me happy?”
He then said:-
“By Allah, it is the supplication that I make for my Ummah in every prayer.”

‘Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Shalaatu Was Salaam ‘ala Rasulillah’

`Abdullah bin Mas`ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Prophet [Sallallaahu ’Alayhi wa Sallam]
used to supplicate:
“Allahumma inni As’alukal-Huda,

wat-Tuqa, wal-`Afafa, wal-Ghina”

TRANSLATION:

“O Allah! I beseech You for guidance,
piety, chastity and contentment.”
A Lil Note:
“Guidance” means guidance towards virtue which one needs at every step. The ability to do good and steadfastness on the Right Path is also covered by the term guidance. To comply with the Orders of Allah and to prevent oneself from what He has forbidden is ‘Taqwa’ (fear of Allah) ~!
[the importance of which needs no elaboration.]
‘Affaf ‘ is prevention from sins.
It also means evasion from seeking help from others.
‘Ghina’ means riches which makes one independent of others
so much so that all one’s hopes are centered on Allah Alone.

~’Salaams’ to you all~

Happiness is attained by three things
1. Being patient when tested
2. Being thankful when receiving a blessing
3. Being repentant upon sinning

(Ibn al Qayyim Rh)

Face your trials with patience, for they may have hidden blessings within them that will show later.

Dhikr and Du’aa for the broken hearts :

1. In al-Saheehayn it was reported from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, when he felt distressed:

La ilaaha ill-Allaah al-‘Azeem ul-Haleem, Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb il-‘arsh il-‘azeem, Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah Rabb is-samawaati wa Rabb il-ard wa Rabb il-‘arsh il-kareem

(there is no god except Allaah, the All-Mighty, the Forbearing; there is no god except Allaah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no god except Allaah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth and Lord of the noble Throne).

2. And it was reported from Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say, when something upset him:

“Yaa Hayyu yaa Qayyoom, bi Rahmatika astagheeth

(O Ever-Living One, O Everlasting One, by Your mercy I seek help).”

3. It was reported from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Mas’ood that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

No person suffers any anxiety or grief, and says:

‘Allaahumma innee ‘abduka wabnu (you say wabnatu instead of wabnu) ‘abdika wabnu (you say wabnatu) amatika, naasiyati bi yadika,
maadin fiyya hukmuka, ‘adlun fiyya qadaa’uka, as’aluka bi kulli ismin huwa laka sammayta bihi nafsaka aw anzaltahu fi kitaabika aw
‘allamtahu ahadan min khalqika aw ista’tharta bihi fi ‘ilm il-ghaybi ‘andak an taj’ala al-Qur’aana rabee’ qalbi wa noor sadri wa jalaa’a huzni wa dhahaaba hammi…

(O Allaah, I am Your slave, son (you say daughter) of Your slave, son (you say daughter) daughter of Your female slave, my forelock is in Your hand, Your command over me is forever executed and Your decree over me is just. I ask You by every Name belonging to You which You named Yourself with, or revealed in Your Book, or You taught to any of Your creation, or You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Qur’aan the life of my heart and the light of my breast, and a departure for my sorrow and a release for my anxiety).

May Allah grant us peace and tranquility. Ameen…

“Keep duas, Allahumma A’izzatal Islam wal Muslimin, wa Adzillassyirka wal Musyrikin… Allahummansur Islam wal Muslimin, wa ahliki kafarata wal kaafirin…Aameen…”

Hope it’s useful, barokalloh!

‘It is ‘MUSTAHABB’ [Encouraged] to Fast ‘Taasoo’aa’ with ‘Aashooraa’

Thanks Allah...

‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem’

‘Assalamu ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barokatuhu’

{Just a Lil Reminder to all my Brothers & Sisters in Faith}

The Virtues of Fasting ‘Aashooraa´

Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with them both) said:

“I never saw the Messenger of Allaah {peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him} so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of ‘Aashooraa, and this month, meaning Ramadhan.”

(Source:- al-Bukhaari ~ #1867).

The meaning of his being ‘keen’ was that he intended to fast on that day in the hope of earning the reward for doing so.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“For fasting the day of ‘Aashooraa´, I hope that Allaah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before.”

(Source:- S.Muslim #1976)

This is from the bounty of Allaah towards us: for fasting one day He gives us expiation for the sins of a whole year. And Allaah is the Owner of Great Bounty.

Which day is ‘Aashooraa´?

An-Nawawi (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Aashooraa´ and Taasoo‘aa´ are two elongated names
[the vowels are elongated]~as is stated in books on the Arabic language.

‘Aashooraa´ is the tenth {10th} day of Muharram
and Taasoo‘aa´ is the ninth {9th} day.

This is our opinion, and that of the majority of scholars. This is the apparent meaning of the ahaadeeth and is what we understand from the general wording. It is also what is usually understood by scholars of the language.”

(Source:-al-Majmoo’)

‘Aashooraa´ is an Islamic name that was not known at the time of Jaahiliyyah.

(Source:-Kashshaaf al-Qinaa’, part # 2~ Sawm Muharram).

Ibn Qudaamah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:-

‘Aashooraa´ is the tenth {10TH } day of Muharram.

This is the opinion of Sa’eed ibn al-Musayyib and al-Hasan.

It was what was reported by Ibn ‘Abbaas(Allah be pleased with him)

‘The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

commanded us to fast ‘Aashooraa´, the tenth {10th} day of Muharram.’

(Source:- al-Tirmidhi~ a Saheeh Hasan Hadeeth).

‘It is ‘Mustahabb’ (encouraged) to fast Taasoo’aa’ with ‘Aashooraa {!}

‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with them both) said:

“When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) fasted on ‘Aashooraa´ and commanded the Muslims to fast as well, they said, ‘O Mes-senger of Allaah, it is a day that is venerated by the Jews and Christians.’

The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:-

‘If I live to see the next year, In shaa Allaah, we will fast
on the ninth {9th} day too.’

But it so happened that the Messenger of Allaah
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
passed away before the next year came.”~

(Source:- Muslim #1916)

‘Ataa´ (Allah be pleased with him) reported that he said:-

‘Fast the ninth {9th} and the tenth {10th} and do not be like the Jews.’
If this is understood, we can say on this basis that it is ‘Mustahabb’ (encouraged) to fast on the ninth and the tenth, for that reason.

KHAMR = ‘Dunyaa’ Is The Devil’s Intoxicant

Thanks Allah...

‘As-Salaam Alaikum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa-Barakatuhu’

*THE DUNYAA IS THE DEVILS INTOXICANT*!!!

Yahya Ibn Mu’aadh Ar-Raazee~(Allah be pleased with him)stated:

‘This worldly life is the Devil’s intoxicant -‘Khamr’ !!

Whoever is intoxicated by it

will not regain consciousness

until they are in the ranks

of the Dead…!

in a state of regret… among the losers.”

Ibn Al-Qayyim~(Rahimullah) said in the same book:

The intoxicating effect of loving this world isfar more potent than the intoxication that results from drinking alcohol by a long way.

The one who is intoxicated by this will not gain his senses until he is in the darkness of his grave !!!

and… if he regains his senses

and the effects of this cease

while he is living then he will surely appreciate the extent of intoxication that this worldly life can cause and that it is more severe than Alcohol…!

Ibn Al-Qayyim (R) goes on to say…

‘Numerous narrations have been transmitted from the rightly guided predecessors where they have mentioned that the love of this world is the root of all sins and the source of them.”

“The love of this world and leadership is that which has filled the Hellfire with its inhabitants, and the practice of abstinence as it relates to the life of this world and leadership is that which has filled paradise with its inhabitants.”
By Allah, the scholars of Islam, or the doctors of the hearts, have spoken the truth; this is truly an epidemic. Even some non-Muslims are now attesting to the fact that materialism has brought nothing but misery to the world, and they have defined this disease as ‘Affluenza’ !

However, they fail to understand that true happiness can only be achieved through belief in Allah and His Messenger.

Prophet’s Words of Wisdom

PROPHET’S WORDS OF WISDOM

Words of Wisdom from Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)
Compiled by Dr. Shahid Athar

[1] “Acquire knowledge, it enables its professor to distinguish right from wrong; it lights the way to heaven. It is our friend in the desert, our company in solitude and companion when friendless. It guides us to happiness, it sustains us in misery, it is an ornament amongst friends and an armour against enemies.” (widely attributed to the Prophet Mohammed (pbuh))

[2] “A Muslim who plants a tree or sows a field, from which man, birds and animals can eat, is committing an act of charity.” (Muslim)

[3] “There is a polish for everything that takes away rust; and the polish for the heart is the remembrance of Allah.” (Bukhari)

[4] “What actions are most excellent? To gladden the heart of human beings, to feed the hungry, to help the afflicted, to lighten the sorrow of the sorrowful, and to remove the sufferings of the injured.” (Bukhari)

[5] “The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self.” (Bukhari)

[6] “If you put your whole trust in Allah, as you ought, He most certainly will satisfy your needs, as He satisfies those of the birds. They come out hungry in the morning, but return full to their nests.” (Tirmidhi)

[7] “When Allah created his creatures He wrote above His throne: ‘Verily, my Compassion overcomes my wrath.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

[8] “Allah will not give mercy to anyone, except those who give mercy to other creatures.” (Abdullah b. Amr: Abu Daud & Tirmidhi)

[9] ” ‘Son, if you are able, keep your heart from morning till night and from night till morning free from malice towards anyone.’ Then the Prophet said: ‘O my son! This is one of my laws, and he, who loves my laws verily loves me.’ ” (Bukhari)

[10] “Say what is true, although it may be bitter and displeasing to people.” (Baihaqi)

[11] “Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith.” (Muslim)

[12] “When you see a person who has been given more than you in money and beauty, look to those, who have been given less.” (Muslim)

[13] “If you do not feel ashamed of anything, then you can do whatever you like.” (Abu-Masud: Bukhari)

[14] “O Lord, grant me your love, grant me that I love those who love you; grant me, that I might do the deeds that win your love. Make your love dearer to me than the love of myself, my family and wealth.” (Tirmidhi)

[15] “It is better to sit alone than in company with the bad; and it is better still to sit with the good than alone. It is better to speak to a seeker of knowledge than to remain silent; but silence is better than
idle words.” (Bukhari)

[16] “Verily, a man teaching his child manners is better than giving one bushel of grain in alms.” (Muslim)

[17] “Whoever is kind, Allah will be kind to him; therefore be kind to man on the earth. He Who is in heaven will show mercy on you.”(Abu Daud: Tirmidhi)

[18] “It is difficult for a man laden with riches to climb the steep path, that leads to bliss.” (Muslim)

(Iyad b. Hinar al-Mujashi: Muslim)

[22] “Who is the most favoured of Allah? He, from whom the greatest good comes to His creatures.” (Bukhari)

[23] “A true Muslim is thankful to Allah in prosperity, and resigned to His will in adversity.” (Muslim)

[29] “Much silence and a good disposition, there are no two things better than these.” (Bukhari)

[30] “Verily, Allah is mild and is fond of mildness, and He gives to the mild what He does not give to the harsh.” (Muslim)

[31] “Whoever loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him.” (Bukhari)

[32] “Once the Prophet was asked:’Tell us, which action is dearest to Allah?’ He answered: ‘To say your prayer at its proper time.’ Again he was asked: ‘What comes next?’ Mohammed said: ‘To show kindness to parents.’ ‘Then what?’ he was asked, ‘To strive for the cause of Allah!’ ” (Ibn Masad: Bukhari)

The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace)

[53] Forgiveness is the alms of victory.
The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace)

[54] In the same way that fire swallows up wood, envy swallows up and destroys goodness.
The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace)

[55] Purify your world. Labor for the Hereafter as if you will die tomorrow.
The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace)

[56] Calling on His Names is balm for the heart.
The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace)

The Prophet Mohammed (may God bless him and grant him peace)

‘Nahmaduhu Wa Nusalli Ala Rasoolilah Kareem~
Amma ‘Baad…

Fa’ Aouzobillahi Minash Shaitaannir Rajeem’….
‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim’.
‘Assalam Alaikum Wa Rehmath Ullahi Wa Barkatahu’.

Abu Hatim (Allah be pleased with him) said:
‘The Intelligent one must adhere to salvation by staying away from probing
into the faults of people,
and instead should preoccupy himself
with his own faults.

Surely, whoever preoccupies himself with his own faults instead of the faults of others,
will find peace and relaxation in his being and his heart will not be exhausted {!}

Whenever he looks to his faults and errors,
then the similar faults of his brother
will be easy for him to bear {!}
However, whoever preoccupies himself with the faults of others instead of his own…
then his Heart (‘Qalb’) will become Blind…
he will become tired out and he will forget his own shortcomings.
The weakest of people is the one who criticizes others for what is in them,
and the weakest from amongst them is… ?
the one who criticizes others for what is also
within himself {!}

And …?
whoever criticizes others, will be criticized by them.’
Truthful was he who said:
‘If you rebuke others, they’ll rebuke you
and do so more!
And then what was hidden within you,
will be on show.

Someone once said in some statement of the past,
A word containing wisdom and beauty so vast :
If ever you mention people,
then leave behind their errors
For there is no error, except that yours can be said
If you criticize a people for what is not within them
Then that is mighty in the Sight of Allah
and also men,
And if you criticize them for what is also within you
…Then how can the one-eyed rebuke
the one-eyed too….. ?

And how can people be criticized by someone who
His faults are worse when all faults are diffused?
When you look for other’s defects, you shall indeed find them…
But remember that what is in you is far greater than them
So grant peace to the people, and leave them to themselves
For they can see your errors more than you can see yourself.’
Al-Shaybani mentioned that, “It is written in the Books that:
‘As you treat others, you shall be treated,
and …… ?
The cup you give to others~
is the cup you shall drink from

“Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan wa fil ‘akhirati hasanatan waqina ‘azhaban- naar.”

Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu ‘Anhu):

The Prophet ~ (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam) said:
“On every Friday the Angels take their stand at Every Gate of the Masjids to write the names of
the people chronologically….
~ (i.e. according to the time of their arrival for
the Friday prayer)…
~ and when the Imam sits [on the pulpit]
…they fold up
their scrolls and get ready to listen to the sermon.”

Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“I leave behind me two {2} things,
the Qur’an and my example ~the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.”
{‘In Shaa Allah’~ ‘Aameen’~}

~My ‘Salaams’ To U All~

“Never Despair Of The Mercy Of Allah”.
Say, ‘Indeed, my Prayer, my Rites of Sacrifice, my Living and my Dying are for ALLAH, Lord of the Worlds’.
